I just read about an experiment that the team at Alledia is doing. They are setting up three different sites, each using a different open source CMS for the purpose of comparing search engine optimization. The sites are:
They will let all three sites run for a year, and at the end of the year, they will see how each site's search engine rank compares to each other. They will also be posting monthly results. hum...I don't know how measurable this could be. If they have the exact content this should drop their rank because they're copying another site, if they don't have the same content how can they measure which SEO works better on a given set of keywords. The link to this isn't working anymore.
